In Miami, it’s not uncommon for the temperature to shoot above a hundred degrees. Cool off at one of the several water parks near North Miami Beach. You can splash, slide and dunk your way to a fun time in no time!
Castaway Island
Castaway Island is located in Hollywood and offers two water playgrounds for kids and adults. The first caters to smaller children, while the second has a giant walk-in pool that is five feet deep. The park offers “Funbrellas” and tables for rent so you can have a picnic. Concessions are sold on site, but coolers of food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted too.
Paradise Cove Water Park
Paradise Cove Water Park is one of the more kid-oriented water parks near North Miami Beach, located in Pembroke Pines. There are four areas to the park, each with its own special entertainment features. Paradise Pipeline has four, five-story water slides, Sharky’s Lagoon has three small slides and splash elements, Parrot’s Point is for small children and Crazy Creek is a short lazy river with a waterfall. Paradise Grill has concessions for sale including pizza, burgers, nachos and drinks, and there are plenty of picnic tables with shade all over the park.
Grapeland Water Park
Grapeland Water Park is a Pembroke Pines water park that’s mainly for kids. It has a small lazy river, a few slides in shallow water and a couple areas for all ages. Pirate’s Plunge is a fast-paced plunging slide that takes you through pulse-pounding turns on the way down. A large, heated recreation pool is a great place to relax and unwind later in the afternoon.
McDonald Water Park
Hang ten at McDonald Water Park, Miami-Dade County’s only wave pool. After the thrill of tackling three different types of wave, grab a tube and meander down the 1,000-foot-long lazy river. You can also catch some rays and sunbathe in the beach area. The park also offers a concession stand and areas you can use to host parties.
Tropical Splash Water Park
Looking for somewhere to take a quick dip? Head over to Tropical Splash Water Park next to Lauderhill Performing Arts. This is one of the smaller local water parks near North Miami Beach, with two different pools with water slides, one for toddlers and one for older kids and adults. You can bring a small cooler with snacks and drinks for a lunch picnic. Lounge on one of the covered chairs and enjoy top 40 and country tunes after a dip.
Bucky Dent Water Park
Bucky Dent Water Park is one of the more popular water parks near North Miami Beach, located in Hialeah. The park has a zero-depth entry swimming pool with twin 30-foot-high water slides. Race your friends down or just let the water take you! The water is heated so you can enjoy the park 10 months out of the year!
Miami Watersports Complex
Take to your wakeboard and tackle a series of obstacles at Miami Watersports Complex. Located in the back of Amelia Earhart Park, the complex is one of the two largest cable wakeboard parks in the United States. Whether you’re a wakeboarding pro or just curious to give it a go, the friendly staff will ensure you have a safe and fun time. Check out the cute shop afterwards and take home a souvenir!
