Hit Up Sounds of Little Haiti
If you’re looking for free things to do in North Miami, Sounds of Little Haiti is a fun event to check out! The music and culture festival occurs every third Friday of the month to promote some of Haiti’s biggest bands and allow the public to experience the ambiance of Little Haiti. Immerse yourself in Haitian culture as you enjoy live music, art exhibits, restaurants and retail shops from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Practice Yoga at Bayfront Park
Unwind with free yoga at Bayfront Park at the Tina Hills Pavilion on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9 a.m. Stretch and strengthen your body and mind in the open-air classes. Bring your own yoga mat, water and towel and stake out a spot on the lawn or pavement.
Play the Odds at Gulfstream Park
Catch year-round world-class horse racing by the beach at Gulfstream Park. The small horse racetrack hosts several fun rotating events, including Wine and Cheese Taste of the Track series August 4th and Music in the Park. Grab a cold beverage at the tiki hut out back or try your luck at the slots in the Gulfstream Casino.
Unwind at Greynolds Park
Greynolds Park is a gorgeous lake with trails that run all around it. Besides the many outdoor activities, you can enjoy including paddleboarding, biking and golf, this park has a secret. Climb the observation mound and you’ll see a stone fort perched on top of it, from which you can get a stunning view of the park.
Stay Cool at the Pool (Bar)
Hang out by the water and enjoy a tropical cocktail at The Pool Deck at Duffy’s Sports Grill. There’s always a DJ spinning jams and keeping the atmosphere lively. The sports bar has an outdoor pool and a dock where you can take an hour-long boat cruise on the intercoastal waterway.
