Here are our favorite local hangouts offering cheap drinks, friendly faces and laid-back vibes.
Spinnakers Bar & Grill
Located in North Miami Beach, Spinnakers Bar & Grill offers happy hour specials from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. every day. The lip-smacking dishes will keep you satisfied while you challenge your friends to video games or sing along with karaoke on Thursdays. Grab a table out on the pet-friendly backyard patio to enjoy the weather with your furry friends!
On The Rocks Bar
On The Rocks Bar is a local neighborhood sports bar that’s open every day until 5 a.m. You don’t have to worry about missing a single play during the big game since there are multiple TVs on every wall. Use the Touch Tones app to control the jukebox and jam out to your favorite songs. There are also a number of games and a pool table to keep you entertained all night. The bar is just a short walk from the beach, so you can go for a moonlit stroll before heading home.
Billy’s Pub Too
Who says happy hour can’t last all day? At Billy’s Pub Too it can. They are home to the longest happy hour in the city. Saddle up to the bar any time between 4 p.m. and 12 a.m. to get special prices any day of the week. This classic North Miami dive bar features pool tables, darts, beer pong and poker, as well as karaoke on Tuesdays. Try their late-night breakfast menu or award-winning ribs if hunger strikes.
Octopus Garden
You won’t find a North Miami dive bar with more personality than Octopus Garden. The small, dark, ex-biker bar is located on Hollywood Boulevard and is decked out with pirate-themed decor. Take advantage of the many photo opportunities, including the ship wheel at the end of the bar. Locals love the live music, karaoke and strong pours, not to mention the all-day happy hour specials!
Bonny & Read’s Toucan Hideout
Bonny & Read’s Toucan Hideout mixes the best of both worlds when it comes to North Miami dive bars and tropical vibes. The pirate-themed bar feels like a standard North Miami dive bar inside, but most of the seating is outside, facing the boardwalk. Grab a bucket of beer, an order of nachos and take in some of the best people-watching at Hollywood Beach.
Point Lounge & Package Store
It’s hard to beat Point Lounge & Package Store’s happy hour: buy two drinks and get the third free Monday thru Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.! This North Miami dive bar has TVs and a jukebox, as well as a dance floor so you can show off your best moves. The menu offers bar snacks, beer, wine and any mixed drink you can think up.
G’s Place
For a non-pretentious atmosphere and some delicious seafood, head to G’s Place. The local sports bar celebrates Wing Night on Fridays with 39-cent wings and is also known for its oysters and clams. The inexpensive beers are served in ice-cold pint glasses, and there are always around 15 different beers on draft.
